“ORGANOTHON” – The run to see others smile, 2017
Zublee Foundation, for the first time organized a run named “ORGANOTHON”, for raising mass awareness and encouraging Organ Donation among the people of Assam on 6th August, 2017 which was flagged off by Superintendent of Police, Partha Sarathi Mahanta at 6:30 A.M. from A.E.I playground, Chandmari. The run witnessed aproximate 300 participants who hailed from different districts and States of India. Apart from Guwahati, there were runners from Chennai, Sadiya, Tinsukia, Darrang, Hajo, Karbi Anglong, Sibsagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Morigaon and so on.
The motive of ORGANOTHON was to reach out to masses with the concept of Organ Donation. The event was graced by the presence of a number of well known people from Assam like Rajnish Goswami (The First Assamese to win Ironman at South Africa), Mahadev Deka (Mr.Universe 2009), Dr. Hitesh Barua(MD,NEMCARE hospitals), Dr. A.K.Adhikary ( Chief Superintendent and Principal of Gauhati Medical College), Dr.Navanil Baruah (GNRC), Mrs. Indrani Baruah (SSP), Mrs. Barnali Sharma (ADC), renowned Musician J.P. Das, Actor Diganta Hazarika, Actor Siddhartha Mukherjee, Actor/Choreographer Pankaj Ingti, Singer Emon Bordoloi and a few others from the Film& Music Fraternity.
The first three Runner’s who completed the run were Kamal Ali from Hajo, Harata Kro from Karbi Anglong and Safiqul Islam from Boko respectively, and they were presented Trophies, Finisher Certificates and T-shirts. All the other participants were given Participation Certificates. Through this event Zublee Foundation wanted people to understand and support the cause of Organ Donation, and also had a focus to grab attention of the Government to take necessary steps to make Cadaver Organ Donation possible in Assam and also the seven other States of North-east India.
ORGANOTHON was a big success and will be organized on this particular date every year.
